ACCESSIBILITY COMMITMENT

Our Commitment

Whitsunday Leisure Activity Centre (WLAC) is dedicated to ensuring that our digital services are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continually strive to improve the user experience and conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

Our goal is to create an inclusive online environment that supports independent access to information and services across Proserpine, Airlie Beach, Cannonvale, and Bowen.

Standards and Tools

To enhance accessibility, we are implementing tools and design practices such as keyboard navigation support, clear focus indicators, resizable text, and high‑contrast colour options. We continually review our site’s structure and content to identify and remedy barriers, and we are exploring the addition of an accessibility widget to provide on‑the‑fly adjustments similar to those available on other inclusive platforms.

Ongoing Improvements

While we aim for full compliance, some areas of our website may not yet meet the strictest accessibility requirements. This may be due to evolving technical solutions or new content added to the site. We perform regular audits, user testing, and staff training to address identified issues and keep pace with best practices.
